Since it’s inception, Akhuwat has laid emphasis on engaging with the youth. To assist on engaging the next generation of leaders in reaching their true potential, Akhuwat engages with them through the following three programs.
Internships at Akhuwat
Akhuwat a thriving network of interns who have devoted their time, talent and resources for their shared mission of a poverty-free world. Acting as young leaders, Akhuwat’s interns use this platform to gain a better understanding of the issues Pakistan faces and how they can contribute towards the resolution of these problems.

Who is it for?
Interns at Akhuwat range from students in their O/A Levels or Bachelors who are seeking to learn about Akhuwat’s philosophy and gain insight on a specific project under Akhuwat’s network.
Akhuwat Fellowship Program
Founded in 2011, the Akhuwat Fellowship Program seeks to build and cultivate a community of changemakers, creative entrepreneurs and moral leaders committed to making a difference. It serves as a platform enabling people and organizations to unlock their potential to drive social change. Through field visits, case analyses, guest speaker sessions and core sessions, the competitive program encourages fellows to think differently and equips them with necessary skillsets to translate their passion into action.
- Late March – Early April : Call for applications is sent out
- April : Online applications open, in order to be eligible for the process each applicant must submit a complete online application.
- Early May: Candidates are short-listed and calls for interviews are made.
- Late May: Interviews are conducted and selected candidates are informed about application decisions.
- June : The Akhuwat Fellowship Program begins!

Since its inception the Akhuwat Fellowship Program has a community of 1500 alumni, after successful completion of the program incoming fellows automatically become a part of this thriving community through the Akhuwat Alumni Network. Who is it for?
The AFP is designed for talented students, young professionals and researchers who are interested in understanding core concepts in social development, project design and implementation , faith-based approach to development, personal and professional leadership.
Akhuwat Volunteer Program
Akhuwat’s Volunteer Program (AVP) is a platform for all members of society who are interested in social development at large and Akhuwat’s model in particular.
The program uses a hybrid virtual and in-person model and allows the participants to learn at a self-paced scale. It uses Akhuwat’s model, philosophy, and work to support like-minded individuals who are motivated towards social change and poverty alleviation. In addition to pre-recorded lectures , relevant readings and assignments are made available to augment learning.
The AVP is a 4 week long course that is opened after every two months. The upcoming dates are tentatively from 25th December 2020 till 25th January 2020.

The program is open to people across all age-groups and backgrounds.
